Do the Meters and Concentrators store information?

Each meters stores last 3 months readings. Each Concentrator stores 3 last month of all Meters under it. The system offers full redundancy at all system levels.

Are the Meters protected against Tamper?

All Powercom Meters have Unti-Tamper capability as Cover Open, Reversal connection etc.

Does Powercom offer a full system solution? Does it include meters, Communication and Server Software?

In case I have just 2 meters do I need a Concentrator?

No, Where small number of meters are involved, Powercom supplies a Meter with GPRS connectivity.

How does Water metering works?

There are two ways. If there is Electricity meter � it will act as a gateway to the water meter using RF communication. If just Water � It sends the information to the RF Concentrator and by GPRS or IP to the Server.

Does Powercom supplies Gas Meters?

No, Powercom connects its RF reading unit to existing Gas Meters with Pulse/Serial output

Can Powercom Solution detect Line Losses?

Both in Water and Electricity the system detects in real time Line Losses.

Does Powercom offers Prepayment Meters?

Yes, however any Meter can be set as Prepayment/Credit from the Central Office. Powercom simplifies the process by loading the money into the meter once a payment was done.

Can Powercom Control the Meters?

Internal relay allows Connect/Disconnect of the customer. The Meter also can limit the amount of Water or Electricity supplied to the customer in case he does not pay.

Is it possible to get software adaptation to the customer?

All Powercom software is built of modules allowing to modify it per customer request.

Does Powercom offer Load Management control options?

By announcing “Critical Status� it is possible to disconnect any customer using more than the allowed power within minutes.

Does Powercom offer Load Forecasting?

Having a full AMM (Advanced Meter Management) system, Powercom is capable offering a forecasting software based on self learning analysis software.

What is APM

Powercom enables the utility company to measure & control specific appliances within the customer premises as Hot Water, Under floor heating etc. Each APM includes RF communication and internal relay to allow connect/disconnect operations.

What is the CIU?

Customer Interface Unit. A 7� LCD control unit, allowing the customer to see the real time and past consumption and enable smart home control features. The CIU has an option of GSM/GPRS modem to enable remote site commands and alerts.

What is the APC16?

Socket Appliance control unit. It measures the consumption of any appliance in the house and transmitting it by RF to the CIU. Each unit includes internal relay to set scheduled connect/Disconnect operations.

Does Powercom offers open protocol or proprietary?

Powercom offers Modbus or Wireless Mbus open protocols.

I have existing meters with RS485. Can I connect them to Powercom system?

Yes, as long as the other meters have Modbus communication, Powercom can connect them to our system by using a RS485/PLC unit. This solution will make any ordinary Meter to a smart Dynamic PLC Meter.

We have Power cable infrastructure made of Aluminum. Will the PLC work?

Yes, Powercom Dynamic PLC works the same at Aluminum or Copper infrastructure

What is the RF distance when using a Water or Gas Meter reading?

The Concentrator communicates with any meter at a distance of 1000m. Due to Mesh network implementation, any meter acts as a repeater, so it is possible to communicate to distance of 10 km.

Can I repeat signals with Dynamic PLC?

Any Electricity Meter can be assigned as a repeater. It is possible to communicate with a meter at a distance of up to 6km from the Concentrator.
